One Roof Community Centres Meal program serves about 300 people everyday, it is the largest meal service provider in the Kawartha Lakes. It is run by a small number of staff and a large number of volunteers.
The clothing closet is now open whenever One Roof is open - everyday between noon and 7 PM. We add new clothing items each week.
Health and Harm Reduction Services
The 360 Nurse-Practitioner Led Clinic offers outreach services to anyone that accesses One Roof each Monday, with sign-ups starting at 12:30 PM. We also offer wound care and Hepatits C testing throughout the year, in partnership with Peterborough Public Health and Peterborough Aids Resource Network (PARN).
We also provide access to harm reduction supplies, including unused drug consumption equipment and condoms, whenever we are open.
In partnership with the Community Training and Development Centre and the City of Peterborough, One Roof offers 8-week training courses to prepare individuals for employment in the food industry. Lunches four times a week are provided by this crew!
Culinary Training Program
Community members that access One Roof have so many gifts and talents. We are lucky to be able to provide space for individuals to plan and run activities within the space. Currently, we have euchre, bingo, and Magic tournaments that are run exclusively by community members that also access One Roof to obtain a meal. About half of our general volunteers, who help to cook, serve, and organize, are also folks who access the meals on a regular basis.
There are always new programs starting up at One Roof! From therapeutic art classes to free hair cuts to dental care clinics, we are continuously striving to make services as accessible as possible. Get in touch or stop by to get all the details!
