Danita Gilbert

Danita is the Care Coordinator at Haley House, One City's reintegration home for aging individuals coming back into the community following incarceration. She provides chronic disease management, care planning, and system navigation support to the residents of Haley House. 

 

Danita grew up in North Bay, where her deep-rooted love of outdoor spaces started. She relocated to Nogojiwanong-Peterborough to attend Trent University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2012. Her nursing career started out in the world of post-operative care, which led her to spend a number of years working overseas with an international NGO. Returning to Canada following this work, she felt drawn to the non-profit/harm reduction sector, and is immensely grateful and honored to be part of the One City Team. 

 

Outside of her work at One City she enjoys board games, birding, paddling and running. She also provides administrative support to the Ontario Volunteer Emergency Response Team (OVERT), which she has been a member of for 15 years.
