About the Event

Course Description

This one-day workshop is focused on learning how trauma and stress affect our brains and bodies, and how regulation can help us prevent trauma, heal trauma, and work towards living a life with integrity. This workshop focuses primarily on doing this work within ourselves, and how being in a state of regulation can assist when we are supporting others who are experiencing distressing events. This training has been adapted from Eric Gentry’s Forward Facing Trauma Therapy Course to fit our needs as non-therapists.

Please note: If you have taken De-escalation Techniques in Practice in the Fall 2025 semester, you will have had an introduction to some of this material. This course expands on what was included in that course and dives deeper into how we can choose our response when we are regulated in stressful situations.
