Job Purpose/Summary
The role of the Housing Support Worker is to provide direct service to residents of our housing support program. Support Workers will engage residents in daily living tasks and needs-based care and programming. This work looks like assistance with hygiene routines, cleaning, grocery shopping and meal preparation, as well as implementing care plans for rent payments, access to health care, and maintaining responsible tenancy. The Housing Support Worker will receive direction from Case Managers and coordinate supports with other staff, students, and volunteers to provide a consistent, warm, supportive presence. The goal of this position is to increase in-person supports to residents living at a busy, low-barrier house in downtown Peterborough.
The housing program’s mission is “to work alongside people to secure and maintain housing as a foundation for autonomy, safety, community and purpose. We offer a continuum of housing options and personalized support, while engaging in longer-term solutions that increase affordable housing for all”.
