Objective
This volunteer role helps ensure a reliable supply of food for Trinity Community Centre’s drop-in meal program by picking up weekly donations from Kawartha Food Share.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Pick up One City’s cargo van at Trinity
Load empty food boxes for return
Drive to Kawartha Food Share and load food donations (with support from staff/volunteers on site)
Transport donations back to Trinity
Assist with unloading (with support from staff/volunteers on-site)
Follow safety guidelines
Communicate any issues (vehicle, scheduling, donation volume) to staff
Commitment
3 hours weekly (Wednesdays from 9:30am-12:30pm); frequency depends on the number of applicants and availability. Ideally long-term/ongoing, though shorter commitments are welcome.
Qualifications
Belief in mission and mandate of One City Peterborough
Valid G-class driver’s license and safe driving record
Comfortable driving a cargo van
Ability to lift up to 50lbs (with assistance)
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
